Business Development Specialist

To achieve these goals we are hiring seasoned operators who understand business models, critical thinkers to aid in ideation and validation, brave decision-makers who know when to scale or when to trash an idea and inspired and talented creators of products and experiences.

Your Responsibilities

Our Business Development Team is at the forefront of the partnerships we prioritize. Our ventures and Studios are built with influential partners from across the MENA region. With a wealth of experience in the fast-moving world of stakeholder management, our Business Development Specialist should be an expert at relationship management, sales, and account management. Together with our venture teams, we envision this role as someone who works closely with our partners across Public and Private spaces, builds organizational structure, and implements strategies to increase value to our partners.

In addition to partnership management, our Business Development Specialist should bring a builder’s mindset to the realm of business, proactively reaching out to the market and networking for new opportunities in the entrepreneurship space.

Creating waves through communication and value to the market.

In this role, you will get to

  • Lead and undertake sessions leveraging partner opportunity, scope, research, and strategy
  • Introduce trends and innovation across a variety of emerging technologies
  • Strategize, map, and balance the partner’s needs with our business goals, market viability, and role feasibility
  • Review and update our partner contracts and agreements as per ongoing developments
  • Proactively find, establish, nurture, and expand partnerships in the MENA market through various channels (incl. cold calling, networking, attending industry events).
  • Drive the partner acquisition strategy for the business, look into establishing and optimizing existing processes to achieve strategic goals
  • Collect, analyze and act upon key sales metrics, ensuring company KPIs are met
  • Ensure a smooth customer journey, involving aftercare with customer success targets in mind
  • Understand the challenges our partners face and find solutions for them. Work closely with tech and product to implement the solutions, and feedback on potential product improvements, being the voice of our partners.
  • Monitoring and setting KPIs and OKRs

For this role, you should have:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in roles in Partnerships, Business Development, Key Accounts Management, Shakeholder Management, or similar functions
  • Analytical mindset and comfortable working with data and able to build and own KPIs
  • Affinity for startup, agile and fast-paced digital environments.
  • Ability and motivation to work hands-on and take ownership.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and people skills.
  • Deep understanding of digital, previous experience with an e-commerce, marketplace or lead generation platform is a big advantage.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (Hubspot or FreshSales or Salesforce) and best practices in workflows.
  • Native-level proficiency in English, Arabic would be a bonus
  • Open to business travel
  • Experience in communicating ideas and decisions to a variety of team members and shakeholders
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Familiar with setting and monitoring KPIs and OKRs
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, ever-changing environment
